Tired of sitting at home hearing about the great shindig everyone went to Friday night?
Well, this time you know where the party’s going to be: Kilby Court (741 S. 330 West). So you have no excuse not to come, and you can bring your friends to an evening of music at the all-ages venue.
Release your mind from final projects, final presentations and final exams and kick back for an evening of tunes.
RED Magazine, The Chronicle’s sister arts and entertainment publication, is sponsoring the second annual Reader Appreciation Party, celebrating RED’s 140th issue. (Alright, so it’s moreso an excuse for an end-of-the-year get-together-who celebrates the groundbreaking 140th issue?)
Support the campus publication that’s the only weekly arts and entertainment magazine in Salt Lake City.
For the meager cover charge of $3 (to pay for Kilby space and for bands playing), listeners can enjoy a wide cornucopia of music, including the sounds of Alchemy, NSPS, Tragedy of the Commons by Erin, Kontrakultura and Starmy.
Starmy and NSPS (fronted by RED editor Jeremy Mathews), play indie pop, Kontrakultura plays fast and heavy protest-punk, Tragedy of the Commons by Erin is a one-woman acoustic set and finally we have Alchemy, a quartet that, according to the band’s fans has a Queens of the Stone Age sound.
With so much quality entertainment for almost free, there is no reason not to come and celebrate with RED Magazine. After a week long of classes (and nearly a semester long) finished, isn’t it about time you treated yourself?
You can’t claim that there won’t be anyone you like there, because you can bring your own friends. Everyone is invited, from ages one to 101.
RED has upheld its civic duty by bringing a collection of cool bands to the community, now let’s do our part and show up.
What else are you going to do with your Friday night? Rememer, you can always study next weekend.
