Editor:
Last week, in an article about an ASUU appeal I am co-sponsoring, I was quoted as saying that [former ASUU Vice President] Randall Lloyd “stacked the deck to pass his agenda.”
Though the appeal I am participating in formally accuses last year’s ASUU vice president of illegally passing legislation during last year’s final Assembly session, it is inappropriate for me to impugn his motives or character. I have no reason to believe that he intentionally acted against the interest of U students.
In fact, I believe that he felt that passing the legislation in that manner would actually help the student body.
Public mistakes deserve public apologies. I’m truly sorry. I’ll be more careful next time.
