Students who need a parking pass or Network ID can get them in the same place-the Union lobby.
First Week Panic Free, organized by the Union Programming Council, brings together organizations such as Commuter Services, the Marriott Library and an array of campus groups to assist students with their campus needs.
“I think it’s something all students should take advantage of, regardless of what year in school they are,” said Charlotte Tyler, community service chairwoman for the Union Programming Council. “It’s a one-stop shopping place for students to get their school year started.” In addition to the typical services offered at the event, students can purchase artwork at the poster sale for the first time.
“I think the poster sale has really increased the traffic for the event. Some people have commented that it makes it look like something is going on, so they stop by,” said Frank Chacon, Union assistant director.
Chacon helped organize some of the logistics for the event, which he said have “fallen into place nicely.”
While Tuesday was a bit slow, the numbers are what organizers expected. “We predicted Tuesday would be less hectic because students aren’t up on campus yet, but Wednesday and Thursday should be busy,” Tyler said.
The event will run through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
