I would like to comment on Kellen Wilson’s letter to the editor (“Rocky Anderson supports homosexuals and fornicators,” Oct. 24). The big picture is that Anderson supports equality and certain rights citizens should possess.

His health benefits plan is one among many stepping stones in the push for fairness throughout our community.

Anderson is trying to ensure that every single person’s race, religion, gender and sexual orientation are represented equally and aggressively. Our mayor is proactively breaking down barriers that separate our community by confronting controversial issues and finding solutions.

Whether or not we agree with another person’s lifestyle is our own opinion, but we should still respect one another.

In response to Wilson: Moral values are our own personal aspirations that we choose to follow, and they should not be used as a mechanism to judge others. I commend Anderson for his dedication in representing all members of our community.
