As a part of the Mexican Independence Day celebration, Avalon Isle is offering an encore presentation of Claire Braz-Valentine’s “When Will I Dance? A Play About Frida Kahlo” at the Salt Lake City Library on Saturday.
First staged in January 2006, the two-personality character of Frida Kahlo is a beautiful addition to the festivities of Sept. 16-the 185th anniversary of Mexico’s independence from Spain.
“Frida Kahlo” stars Nicol Razon and Leticia Velez, who each play a different personality within the conflicted painter. Both women are also acting in the U’s production of “Elektra,” which opens Saturday as well.
