Throughout the school week, Miles Petty rides his bike between his home in the Avenues and his classes across campus.
“Biking is easier then you think,” said Petty, a senior in political science. “You don’t realize how long it takes you to park your car and walk somewhere on campus. With a bike you can get right to the building you need to.”
Hills were Petty’s only complaint about his bike route, but he said that it’s just one sacrifice he has to make. The benefits Petty gets daily from his ride are exercise, more gas in his car’s tank and a minimal carbon footprint.
Petty is planning to pedal for as long as he can. He said that once the snow begins to fall he’ll be looking for alternatives, however.
