The Utah cross country team will be competing at the Utah Valley University Invitational later this afternoon.
In their final meet of the regular season, the Utes will be sending only four of their runners to compete.
“We will not be getting a team score for the meet,” head coach Kyle Kepler said. “But it is a good opportunity for our new and younger runners to get some additional experience.”
The four runners competing today will be Sydney Osmun, Zoe Roy, Lucy Yates and Brooke Casagranda. Osmun is the only runner competing with prior experience in competitive meets as she finished 35th in the Colorado State Invitational.
Zoe Roy only recently signed on with the cross country team as she also is a member of the Utah Nordic Ski Team. Her previous experience as a runner was at the high school level.
Of the remaining competitors, Yates and Casagranda will both be competing in their first collegiate race, but will be unattached to the U. This means that the runners will not be affiliated with the school in this competition.
The UVU Invitational will begin at 5:45 p.m. today on the UVU campus in Orem, Utah.
