Editor:
You folks really need to consider who you talk about before you print your ridiculous articles.
In Alicia Williams’ column (“ASUU must veto political funding: Assembly misused funds” Oct. 6), she said, “Hoffman…reiterated his commitment to advocating funding to the group Students for Obama.” Are you kidding me? I advocate funding for absolutely any student group, because it is my job. Is it not the case that any student registered at the U pays student fees, as clearly stated in the article? Then why should ASUU not advocate for those same students to receive funding?
You really need to consider actually speaking with people before misquoting them in your pathetic excuse for a newspaper. The fact that the bill was passed by the Assembly shows that it had the necessary support, and to use and try to harm my name is nothing other than what I would expect from the “fine” folks at The Chronicle.
If you want to talk about Redbook, first read it, then consult with ASUU’s attorney general, who is paid a lot of money to screen such issues. If this were such a problem, you would expect his $2,000-plus salary per semester would be incentive to point it out in a meeting that he was present for.
I really despise my own school’s newspaper, and that seems to be the general consensus across campus. For Christ’s sake, do some research before contributing to such a lame publication.
