Editor:

I was amazed at Heather Berg’s argument (“Don’t be fooled by Obama’s rhetoric,” Nov. 3) in favor of the Republican side of the election. I cannot say that she was in favor of John McCain because she never mentioned him or any GOP candidate. Berg just reiterated the same tired Republican view of Barack Obama.

Heather, you should have talked about McCain and his policies, but instead you demonstrated the general lack of integrity of the Republican smear campaign on Obama. Your argument that immigrants distrust a good speaker because that means he will become a socialist is ridiculous.

Heather, you could have done yourself proud had you decided to give a closing argument about policy, integrity and good information. But you chose to pander to the lowest form of politics.
