Editor:
The Chronicle published a letter to the editor (“Extra credit for protest ridiculous,” Nov. 12) berating a health professor for offering extra credit to students for attending a protest against a certain church’s involvement in Proposition 8. Within that same letter, arbitrary statements were made and presented as fact followed by a link to a Web site that the statement was taken from in an attempt to validate the source. It didn’t take long after visiting the link to realize what I was seeing was a compilation of media statements that were most likely taken out of context and then spun to be presented as sound scientific research in an effort to make homosexuality and gay rights activists look bad. Did The Chronicle even check the link before publishing it for hundreds if not thousands of students to read? If so, then why go ahead and print that letter anyway?
As for Joaquin Fenollar, author of the letter, you’re extremely misguided with your knowledge of the gay rights agenda. May “God” forgive your eternal soul for subjecting us all to that hatemongering article.
