Editor:

I agree with Steven Warrick (“LDS Church within its rights to support Prop. 8,” Nov. 12) that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is within its rights of free expression to have supported California’s Proposition 8.

But Warrick seems to object to the protests against the church. Aren’t the protesters exercising their same right of free expression? And doesn’t that right include saying that the church’s position is bigoted and hateful?
