Many people feel good about themselves, knowing they voted on the issues. Still, things remain as they have been for far too long. It’s time students got more involved in the issues that they claim to support every day.
For those of you who don’t agree with how things are being done, do something about it. Join protests, actively support movements against crooked or uncompromising politicians like Sen. Chris Buttars, and make the world hear what you have to say. Cause trouble, get noticed and spread your word.
Disgusted with the state’s archaic drug laws and the backward police officers who support them? Join NORML and celebrate April 20 in a public setting with as many people as you can.
If you’re one of many who were gasping for air last week, it might be time to actively avoid activities that are detrimental to the environment. Seek out movements similar to the Capitol Climate Action protest being held March 2 in Washington, D.C.
Don’t want unsightly oil pumps giving you the bird through the Delicate Arch? Follow DeChristopher’s lead and bid on the land. Don’t fall prey to unfair laws, or those in power who break just laws without consequence. Don’t allow yourself to think that anything you do will not change anything, and never count on someone else to fix what is broken.

To decide against your conviction is to be an unqualified and excusable traitor, both to yourself and to your country, let men label you as they may.”
