They say love can be hot, but Valentine’s Day actually caught fire.
Police suspect embers from a fire pit burning outside the Union could have been the source of a fire that torched one of the building’s overhangs Saturday morning. By the time firefighters put out the flames, the damage mounted to $5,000, according to the police report. No one was injured by the blaze.
The fire department is still investigating how the embers traveled from the pit to the property. The police report said winds were blowing in the area on Saturday morning.
