YOU’VE WON A CONTEST WITH TWO PRIZE OPTIONS, BUT CAN ONLY CHOOSE ONE. A YEAR IN EUROPE WITH A MONTHLY STIPEND OF $2,000 OR 10 MINUTES ON THE MOON.
WHICH DO YOU TAKE?
1* The year in Europe, no contest. I don’t want to deal with what it takes to get to the moon, for one thing, and I’ll take something that lasts for a year over something that lasts for 10 minutes. – Rachel Hanson
2* Europe on $2000 a month? Sign me up. What’s the moon got over Europe? I’d start in Belgium and work my way towards Italy, soaking up museums and concerts like no one’s business. It’d be awesome. And with the monthly stipend, I’d never have to worry about finding places to eat and sleep, and would have money left over for souvenirs. Sounds like a good deal to me. – Christie Franke
3* If such a competition existed, I would rig it in my favor to guarantee a seat on the departing rocket. I have long resented that only highly trained astronauts and millionaires with a Russian connection get to leave our planet. – John Collins
4* The moon. In a heartbeat. Europe will always be there, but you don’t know if you’ll ever get a chance to go to the moon again. Plus, you will always win when you’re comparing travel stories with strangers at boring dinner parties. “Mount Everest, huh? Cool. I walked on the moon.” – Trevor Hale
5* I would have to take Europe. Space is cool and all, and I realize going to the moon is something I couldn’t ever do on my own, but 10 minutes? Not worth it. I’d just be pissed off about that the whole time and not enjoy it. – Alyssa Bailey
