The Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity had two of its Greek letters stolen and its marquee vandalized.
The large metal Pi symbol and the letters K and A usually hang outside the fraternity’s house on 100 South. But when some of the fraternity brothers returned from the Utes’ football game in Las Vegas, they found someone had stolen the Pi symbol and A letter and painted “unts” next to the K.
“We whitewashed it so we wouldn’t be showing obscenities,” said Madson Thompson, president of Pi Kappa Alpha.
The fraternity had its Pi symbol stolen before, about three weeks ago. It was returned about 10 days later. They found it in a garbage can behind their fraternity house, Thompson said.
Thompson said he is not sure if they’ll have the same luck with the latest thefts.
