This week, Joyful Noise centers it’s self around Scottish Psychedelicism– starting off with the new release (!) from the elusive electronic music duo, Boards of Canada, then, quickly, stepping back to the source with The Incredible String Band, an aptly named progressive psychedelic folk ensemble – both are groups that speak to me on a physical, inexplicably mystic level, perhaps due to my own Scottish heritage, but more likely because of the insane musical talent of the musicians therein. In tune with the concept of stepping back, these are two bands which were first drawn into my ears in my early years of high school, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to listen to them with you now — new and old coming together through intimate connections spanning time, space and genre. Thanks for listening!
