With Fall Break coming up next week, most students are spending their time cramming for exams. Many are making it through by looking forward to the chance to rest.
Bethany Schafer, a senior in strategic communication, had a test on Tuesday.
“After taking the test I felt good about my preparation. I feel like I have been set up with study materials for both exams this week,” Shafer said.
Many students are relying on coffee, candy or chocolate while they are working through piles of essays and reading. Some students prefer to stay up late and study, but other students prefer to get up early.
Shafer is not much of a night owl when she studies.
“I usually don’t study super late. Depends on how much coffee I’ve had. I hardly stay up past midnight doing homework because I work at 5 a.m. most days. My body is used to getting up early instead of staying up late,” she said.
Shafer is excited for the break but knows that not all of it will be spent having fun.
“Half the week I will be on vacation and the other half doing homework, working and relaxing,” Shafer said.
Other students have plans to visit other states during Fall Break.
Hyunsoo Cho, a senior in biology, is one of many students looking forward to a week off.
“[I’m] thinking about Fall Break for sure. I am heading down to San Diego for five days, and I am super excited since I’ve never been to San Diego. I can’t wait to [go] this Saturday,” Cho said.
Some students have already taken their exams and are off the hook for the week. They said the preparation was not as stressful, since the exams are falling in the middle of the semester.
