OUR_Ep.62_ Ali Timmons

If history has shown us anything, it’s that you can throw records, win streaks and talent levels out the window for Utah and BYU. None of it matters. It’s typically going to be a competitive game, and fans can usually count on a thrilling finish. Just flip through a couple pages in the rivalry’s recent history.

OUR welcomes the lovely Ali Timmons into the studio for Episode 62. The University of Utah freshman is an aspiring singer-songwriter who hails from California. While in studio, Ali tells us a bit about herself and her music. Listeners get the special treat of hearing Rebecca and Ali sing an acoustic guitar cover of “Pumpin’ Blood” by the band NONONO. Ali also plays three of her originals to close out the first half of the episode.

During the last segment, Dakotah joins Sascha and Rebecca to discuss vaporizers, legendary guitarists and the recent controversy on campus regarding the potential lyrical adjustment of the U’s fight song, “Utah Man.” The suggestion comes out of an effort to make the traditional fight song more inclusive and gender neutral, sparking much debate.

Thank you for listening and go Utes!
