The business school is welcoming a new year with the opening of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute.
The Institute is a merger of the Bureau of Economic and Business Research and the Center for Public Policy and Administration. The space hopes to serve as a gathering place for business and community leaders as well as the general public.
Nicholas Thiriot, MPP communications specialist, said the Institute “will bring in further connections with the business community.”
The Institute will hire graduate students to help develop research projects and to conduct survey research. In addition, they plan to partner with the Hinckley Institute of Politics to create and provide students with internships.
Mariah Anderson, a member of student involvement and engagement, said the program is another way for students to have the Eccles experience.
The Institute will bring in professionals from different organizations to contribute in research and decision making. Students will have opportunities to network with individuals in varying fields and gain insight they would be unable to find elsewhere.
The Policy Institute is located in the Spencer Fox Eccles Business Building in Suite 7150.
