The Daily Utah Chronicle welcomes submissions to the U of U Travel Blog by students, faculty, and campus organizations.
There are four categories in which you can submit: travel essays, a photo galleries, or travel videos.
Travel Essay
Travel essays are a combination of written work and photography. It could be a review of the traditional cuisine in a foreign country, a first-person account of an experience while traveling abroad, or even a poem that you felt inspired to write while meditating on a Himalayan mountain top. Be creative. Let your personality show through your writing. Please include at least one high-quality landscape image (maximum dimensions of 1200 x 900 pixels) to go along with the article.
Photo Gallery
If you’re more of a visual artist than a writer, you can tell your travel story through photography. There should be at least 10 photos. Limit the gallery to photos taken within one city or region. Please re-size the photos to a maximum dimension of 1200 x 900 pixels. Feel free to add your own personal aesthetic and style to your gallery by using Photoshop or photo filters. We also encourage you to add a short caption to each photo.
Travel Video
If you have a talent for video, consider making a video about your travels. It could be a short 1-2 minute video of the sights and sounds of a city or a long-form travel vlog chronicling your travels. You can submit your video in the form of a YouTube link. Also include a high-quality landscape photo with a maximum dimension of 1200 x 900 pixels to be used as a featured image.
