Come see 2015’s hottest movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” screening at ASUU’s “Dive In” movie event. The Dive In event will be held at 7 p.m. in the Crimson Lagoon inside the Student Life Center on Lower Campus on April 14.
This is not the first time a Dive In event has taken place. Last semester “Jurassic World” was shown. Due to its huge success, with more than 800 people attending, ASUU decided to host this event again.
James Kirklow, head of the Films Board, said they host this event to get students involved, meet other students, build a community on campus, raise awareness and, most of all, for students to enjoy the event have have fun.
Students can expect to see collaborators including K-Ute and Freshens with booths and activities throughout the duration of the event.
When asked about the possibility of hosting this event again, Kirklow responded “Absolutely! Mark Weiss and myself have agreed that we want this to become a tradition that ASUU and the Crimson Lagoon does every semester! So be on the lookout during welcome week during Fall Semester for the next one!”
The ASUU’s Free Films Series has a new line-up of free films, both classics and flicks straight out of the theaters, every semester. A magnet with the schedule can be picked up at the ASUU office front desk.
Usually once or twice a year, the Films Board does a pre-screening of a upcoming movie, so also be on the lookout for that next semester.
The event is free for all students to attend.
