The University of Utah men’s tennis team continues their season this weekend with three big matches on the slate. They are coming off of a tough tournament weekend, with losses to Tulsa University and Purdue University in the ITA Kickoff event. These two losses even their season record at two wins and two losses. However, the Utes have won both home matches this season, and the three upcoming matches will all be held at home in the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.

The first of these matches is against East Tennessee State University. The Bucs have one win and two losses so far in the early part of the season, beating Penn State University and losing to Wake Forest University and South Florida University. The match will take place on Friday, Jan. 31 at 12 p.m.

The second of three matches for the men’s tennis team once again is at home, as the Utes host the University of Nevada in Salt Lake City. The Wolf Pack will head into this match undefeated on the season with a perfect five wins and zero losses, including four on the road. Even more impressively, the Wolf Pack has won 22 matches this season and only lost five. They have beaten Point Loma, Azusa Pacific, the University of California at San Diego, Sonoma State University and Holy Names. This match will take place at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 1 at noon.

The last match of the weekend for the men’s tennis team comes against the University of Montana here at home once again. This is the first time Montana’s tennis team has competed since Nov. 8 at the Bulldog Classic, when they played the University of Gonzaga. It will be interesting to see if the lay-off will have any effect on the players against a team that will have six matches under their belts when the Grizzlies roar into Salt Lake City. This match is set to take place in the George S. Eccles Tennis Center also on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 5 p.m.
