This family-owned business began in Salt Lake and has branched out to other cities across the state including Bountiful, Millcreek and Roy. When navigating their website, you’ll find on the first page, “Tacos don Rafa is a place where good street tacos and atmosphere combine in a very special way.”
Our experience at the truck was quick and entirely hospitable. The two brothers share their space and create a homely environment for all to partake in. Because let’s be real, tacos are for everybody.
Every Day is Taco Tuesday
Tacos are one of the most universal foods and this stand does it right. We tried the carne asada and it did not disappoint. Don Rafa is a family recipe with a secret ingredient: love. The mix of spices and fresh produce will leave your mouth watering and stomach grumbling for more. You really can’t go wrong with tacos in tinfoil.
Provided in the experience, is complimentary parking for customers and an outdoor seating area. Here, you can slow down and chat with friends and family as you take those last bites creating the perfect opportunity to buy more. Is that how they get you? Maybe. However, it’s worth it.
At Don Rafa, taco heaven is a real place. Open 10 a.m. to midnight, Monday-Sunday 365 days a year, you can always count on Don Rafa to support your taco fix. Whether it’s a blizzard or blazing outside, these brothers will continue to fill our bellies with the wonders of their tacos. What they provide is almost like magic, but a magician must never reveal their secrets.
Due to inflation, their prices have gone up but still can’t be beat anywhere else. Tacos for $2, Burritos for $7 … I mean, come on. With the amount of food you get on your plate, it’s quite the bargain that simply can’t be passed up.

To top it off, Don Rafa provides catering for any event. Do you have a wedding coming up? Don Rafa has your back. Your sibling’s birthday is this month and you haven’t planned anything? Don Rafa will heal your bond. You have to figure out how to feed an entire classroom? Kids love tacos. Our beating hearts begin with a taco in hand and through Don Rafa you can do no wrong.
As college students, we’re always looking for a good time in the nighttime. Salt Lake City closes its doors early, but Don Rafa stays up to keep the party going.
