On Monday, ASUU, the University of Utah’s governing student body, officially announced candidates for the 2025 election with Five tickets campaigning for the 2025–26 student body presidency.
The student body also announced candidates for attorney general, the legislative assembly and the legislative senate.
ABC Ticket
The ABC Ticket consists of Kefa Abakuki for president, Cameryn Coffey for vice president of student relations (VPSR) and Campbell Brown for vice president of university relations (VPUR).
“With the ‘Actions Build Culture’ campaign, we focus on leading with purpose, showing respect and working together to make a difference,” the ticket’s platform statement reads.
The statement emphasized fostering community and celebrating diversity. It outlined the ticket’s dedication to personal growth, relationships and positivity.
Poll Ticket
Spencer Poll is running for president as part of the Poll Ticket. He’s campaigning alongside Josie Renick for VPSR and Gavin Reynolds for VPUR.
The ticket runs on a platform focused on unity, safety and openness. Their platform statement promised to work on making transportation more affordable, open office hours and equal support to every college.
The statement also referenced the 2023 Clery Report the U released last fall, and said the ticket will “work with Housing and Residential Education and University Police to combat sexual violence in campus housing.”
Rose Ticket
“The college experience should be exciting, so we are ready to blaze new trails by creating more vibrant events and encouraging a campus culture that’s bold, exciting, and memorable,” the Rose Ticket’s platform statement says.
This ticket includes Alex Rose for president, Auzja Morse for VPSR and Maddie Dahl for VPUR.
Alongside working for better events, the statement highlighted the ticket’s dedication to mental and physical well-being. It promised to advocate for resources that “promote health, safety and balance.”
Singh Ticket
“Most of us are quick to notice things that cause us dissatisfaction. Some of us are even brave enough to call them out. The Singh Ticket is no different,” the ticket’s platform statement opens.
The Singh Ticket consists of Sunny Singh for president, Elayna Williams for VPSR and Olivia Saenz for VPUR.
The platform statement called for student involvement in the U’s physical development plan and for expanded transit options, more parking lots and committees to investigate on-campus crime.
Whicker Ticket
The Whicker Ticket’s campaign is built on transparency, accessibility and excellence. They aim to create a united campus community, encourage collaboration between students and include students in allocating student resources.
“Our mission is to strengthen connections across campus, ensure resources are available and accessible to all, and build up the University of Utah so that it is stronger for future generations,” their platform statement reads.
Tannon Whicker is running for president, Gideon Kiphibane for VPSR and Samson Davis for VPUR on this ticket.
