It came down to the wire, but the U men's basketball team preserved its conference home winning streak, which now stands at 46. Utah (12-3, 2-0 MWC) used 14 trifectas, the second-most by any U team, to claim its ninth straight win in defeating the San Diego State Aztecs (10-6, 0-2) 76-70 in the Huntsman Center on Monday night.

Skiers Second at Nevada Invite

Thus far, the U ski team's preseason No. 2 national ranking appears prophetic. The Utes placed second in last week's Montana Invitational, and did so again in this week's Nevada Invitational (held, oddly enough, in Sugarbowl, Calif.). After wrapping up the two day meet on Monday, the Utes' 551 points placed them second behind defending champion Denver's 583.

Commission OKs Nuclear Storage
