The more liberal might envision passionate students sketching the intricacies of the human body. Both may be surprised to see a student's sketchbook?the model's body drawn with perspective cubes and the complete muscle structure, barely resembling the body's outer appearance.

FAA Orders National Plane Inspections

WASHINGTON?The Federal Aviation Administration plans to order U.S. airlines that fly Airbus A300 planes to inspect their fleets, focusing on the tail that sheared off in Monday's plane crash in New York. The order was expected to be issued Friday, FAA spokesman William Shumann said.

SALT LAKE CITY?The first of 11 gigantic images of Olympic athletes has gone up on a downtown building. By mid-January, nine more office towers and a building at the University of Utah will be similarly transformed. The building wraps, measuring as much as 141 feet long and 97 feet wide, will depict winter sports athletes, including a figure skater, snowboarder and Paralympian.

Aid Workers Flown Out of Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan?In a dramatic nighttime evacuation, six aid workers set fire to their all-encompassing burqas so U.S. special forces pilots could find them on an Afghan field. Along with two men, they were whisked to safety early Thursday after three months of Taliban captivity.
