The police department has changed its definition of gang crime in hopes of streamlining how it deals with gang-related activity overall.

Rice-Eccles Stadium is in the process of installing a new FieldTurf surface. The old turf, which was installed in 2002, was torn out after the Supercross event April 25.

On Saturday afternoon, Utah did something that no team has ever accomplished in Mountain West Conference history--winning the tournament as the final seed in the conference. The road was longer than most, but the Utes overcame adversity to take the title and earn their first bid to the NCAA Tournament since 1960.

The Daily Utah Chronicle is cancelling most of its print editions this summer to save money during rough financial times.

Utah wrapped up conference competition this past weekend with the 2009 Mountain West Conference Championships, held in Laramie, Wyo. Utah finished with 76 points, thanks to two event wins and four top five finishes on the final day of competition, which was good enough for fifth place.
