Could this be Utah’s best defense ever?

By By Tony Pizza, Sports Editor September 4, 2008

As an objective member of The Daily Utah Chronicle who's dedicated to the ethics of professional journalism, I'm not allowed to have a favorite U football player. But if you, the most rabid, unrelenting, jump-during-third-down fans are looking for someone to admire, or possibly one day own the replica jersey of, I'd highly recommend Nai Fotu.

Six word memoirs shares everyone?s story

By By Sarah Custen, Red Pulse Contributor September 4, 2008

In November 2006, SMITH Magazine8212;an online magazine with the tagline "Everyone has a story"8212;began an ongoing collection of six-word memoirs. People from across the globe send in their condensed life stories, and the results range from a modern sort of haiku, to funny little quips, to miniature philosophies

Everybody wants what they can?t have

I want a romantic comedy that is both funny and romantic, while avoiding altogether the obligatory stereotypes, the clichés and the predictable plot lines which have been recycled and reshaped for too many years. That's all I want. Can't I have that? Jason Todd Ipson's film "Everybody Wants to Be Italian" makes a noteworthy attempt to give me what I know I can't have, but ends up falling into the unavoidable trap of standard genre filmmaking.

Utah takes liquor laws for granted

By By Liz Carlston September 4, 2008

Aside from the effect on students, should the drinking age be lowered? More concern should be given to what it is already doing to the general population. Utah should think twice about the benefits of the stringent liquor laws it enjoys before throwing them out.

By By Niccolo Barber, Rochelle McConkie September 4, 2008

ASUU's began distributing its new publication, RedPages, last week, but some students were surprised because the booklet was supposed to be more than a planner.

U student joins family in Utah Republican delegation

Before the Republican National Convention, Kylee Snelgrove thought she was a Republican. But after attending the RNC this past week, Snelgrove was convinced.

ASUU doesn?t deliver on Red Pages

September 4, 2008

Last week the project was handed out to students for free. Unfortunately, the final product doesn't quite live up to the promise. As far as free planners go, Red Pages is pretty decent. But we can't help but feel disappointed when comparing the small planner to the original vision.

Satire: DNC Protests Revealed As Elaborate Drama

By By Poppius McGee, Red Pulse Contributor September 4, 2008

Images of free speech zones and riot police arresting peaceful demonstrators spilled out of Denver last week in the wake of the Democratic Party's National Convention. It looked as if the days of '68, when protesters and police battled over Chicago for eight days, had returned. Burned cars, smashed glass and spent tear gas canisters littered the streets of Denver at the end of a three-day orgy of violence.

Jason Todd Ipson and the Movie Genre Mix

By By Erik Lopez, Staff Writer September 4, 2008

"Everybody Wants to be Italian" is the mixed-up tale of a Polish fishmonger living and working in Boston's Italian North End who can't get over a relationship that ended eight years ago. Couple that with his Italian coworkers trying to set him up with a lady who they believe is Italian (which in turn convinces him to act and be Italian to impress her) and you can see that multi-ethnic and Freudian humor will be rife
