By By Jason Peterson April 18, 2008
Hatred can be a strong motive. In tonight's first showdown of the season between Utah and BYU softball, there's bound to be plenty of it. Just ask outfielders Meghan Crouse and Kelly Matthews, two of the Utes' five seniors who have been around long enough to witness the heated rivalry up close.

By By Rochelle McConkie April 17, 2008
College Democrats and Republicans clashed over the question of whether the war in Iraq is making America safer in last night's debate at the Hinckley Institute of Politics. The College Republicans argued that the war has protected the country because there haven't been any terrorist attacks on American soil, ships or embassies since the war began in 2003, but the College Democrats said the war is diverting resources from the real threat in Afghanistan and acting as a recruit tool for al-Qaida.

Shattuck: Anatomy of flip flop

By By Ryan Shattuck April 17, 2008
I used to think Robin Williams was one of the best actors Hollywood had to offer. Now I find him to be more obnoxious than a room full of 3-year-olds. I used to pretend to date women in high school. Now I write for a number of gay, political publications. I used to consider myself a highly religious person.

Speaker boasts greek connections

By By Jaime Winston April 17, 2008
When Donald Dunn told his mother he wanted to join a fraternity at the U, her answer was simple: "No." "She had some preconceived notions and misconceptions on what greek life is about," said Dunn, former chairman of the Utah Democratic Party. "She was thinking it was going to be like 'Animal House,' or maybe I'd be hazed, or worse, I wouldn't even be accepted.
