November 19, 2001
For the young men who are now turning in their selective service cards at the post office, the idea of a new draft doesn't seem all that far-fetched. And while our military is capable of handling the current situation, no one knows what tomorrow will bring. This new sense of uncertainty is now a part of our reality, where the young men think about what it must be like to be in a war.

Since January, 1980, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has documented 4,160 security breaches at Salt Lake International Airport. The FAA routinely plants weapons and fake explosives in passenger bags, testing safety procedures. Too often the procedures fail, as in the case of three dynamite sticks and a ticking clock that passed through Southwest Airlines' security.

PROVO?The Utah football team had a chance last Saturday night to knock off an undefeated team, take the Mountain West Conference lead and, most importantly, teach much-hated BYU a little lesson in humility. But when this opportunity knocked, it knocked the Utes over.

Letter to the Editor: the Demands of Uncharitable Guests

Editor: As a student of the University of Utah, I find the parking situation intriguing. The main problem is that I (or any other student for that matter) am too worried about my classes to take time out of my schedule to lobby for my parking stall?a parking stall that I paid $120 this year to use.

Olympics to Jostle U Work Schedules

November 19, 2001
As the time for the Olympics draws closer, University of Utah employees have a better understanding of how much the Games will disturb campus life. From now until the end of March, the atmosphere at the U will be anything but typical. As U parking lots become Olympic parking lots, and students move out of the dorms, many U employees wonder about their work schedules. Other employees wonder if they will have hours to work
