Interactive Timeline: Exploring The History of Orson Spencer Hall

DSCN0201
Unless you’ve been living under a rock this semester, you’ve probably heard that Orson Spencer Hall, better known by students as “OSH,” will be demolished this summer. To pay homage to one of campus’ oldest and (these days) most despised buildings, we went back through our archives to learn about the history of OSH — its construction in the 1950s, when it was described as “practical and modern” as well as “one of the least costly buildings to maintain,” to its current state, when it’s falling apart and can claim the title of MOST costly to maintain.
We’ve arranged a selection of stories from the era of OSH’s glory days as well as its more recent history on this interactive timeline for you to explore at your leisure. And we’ll be updating the timeline with more articles, photos and videos of its demolition when it happens.
