Shooting Suspect Turns Himself In

ROOSEVELT?A man suspected of shooting at a Utah State Highway Patrol trooper turned himself in to police early Tuesday morning.

The man, 21-year-old Jason Vance Christensen, allegedly shot at the trooper?s vehicle as it pursued him and his driver, Taunilee Accuttoroop, 24. A five-year-old child was also in the vehicle during the high-speed chase.

The trooper was not injured in the incident, which began shortly after 6 p.m. Monday.

The chase started when a convenience store clerk in Lapoint, in Uintah County, reported that two men had been arguing, and one of them pulled a gun, Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Doug McCleve said.
