Finals Approach as Pressure on Students Mounts

By U Wire

STILLWATER, Okla.?As final examinations are fast approaching, 16 weeks of festering stress and pressure could cause some Oklahoma State University students to hit the roof.

“Now is a pretty hectic time [not only for] career issues, but also for stress for those not doing well academically,” said Joni Hays, coordinator of the Career Resource Center at University Counseling Services.

However, with finals two weeks away, many students aren’t feeling as stressed.

“I’m sure it will hit me in about a week,” said Allison Reed, microbiology freshman. “I’m just going to see how it goes, just try the easier path.”

History junior Amy Martin said she has several papers to write in the coming weeks and is a little worried. “I don’t think I cope very well?I eat too much,” Martin said.

Hays said now is the time when students are feeling anxious not only about finals, but also going home for the holidays.
