Life After Graduation: Starting the Job Search

As graduation day rolls around, it’s necessary to start a job search campaign?unless you are joining the “family firm.” Developing an effective rsum is the first step in every job search. Here are some suggestions:

1. A rsum is your brochure?it should be simple and highlight your accomplishments and selling points.

2. Ensure that your contact information is clear and easy to read.

3. Use effective Internet based posting services to gain wide exposure to hiring managers. Select those with proven success, such as eRecruiting and MonsterTrak. Both sites are found on the Career Services home page.

For a more comprehensive list of tips plus perspectives on the post-graduation prospects the class of 2002 faces, keep an eye out for the careers section in next week’s Chrony.
