Above: Jim Grierson plays broom hockey outside the Union plaza Thursday as part of the Fire & Ice: U Winterfest 2003. Right: Gloria Pedroza carves an ice sculpture for “The Regulators,” a team formed just for the festivities. Each winning team member for the ice sculpting and sports relay won a DVD player. The event included food, hot beverages, music, dancing and a performance by Claudia Acua at Kingsbury Hall.
