Urban Meyer

By [email protected]

I was not surprised to see Urban go; disappointed, but not surprised. I thought Urban was better than this, I thought he had a lot of dignity. He proved me wrong. He showed me IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. Not only did he bail out on his team after only 2 seasons, he even passed up his “dream job” because Florida offered, big surprise, MORE MONEY. Did he even have time to get a nameplate for his desk? Don’t get me wrong, Urban is obviously a fantastic football coach; but am I the only one who feels used? “Hey Urb, can we help you get a better job in a BCS conference? We won’t mind if you leave us high and dry in the recruit department, or if your leaving inspires our heisman candidate QB to enter the draft.” Note to Florida: make sure you guys don’t go undefeated, or your new coach will bolt for the NFL. To Utah football fans: don’t excuse Meyer because of 2 good seasons, if the recruits and donors change their minds, it’s back to 6-5. To Meyer: don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
