Looking for a few good students

Today is the last day students can attend meetings to become student housing resident assistants for the 2005-2006 school year.

Interested students must attend the information sessions in order to pick up an application.

There will be two information sessions today. The first will be held at 10 a.m. in Union Parlor B.

The second is at 9 p.m. in the Heritage Center, Room 2A/B.

The Office of Residential Living pays for every RA’s housing, as well as providing each with a 19-meal plan.

The RA information Web site (www.orl.utah.edu/emp-ra.html) warns that the position “demands an uncommon level of commitment” and must be the student’s top priority.

“We are looking for students who display qualities such as leadership, maturity, initiative, ethics, a sense of responsibility, effective communication skills and sensitivity to diverse populations,” wrote Denise Eggers and Claudia Fritz, both Residence Life Coordinators, in a joint e-mail.

Applications will be due on Jan. 14. Workshops will run from Jan. 24 to Feb. 10, and interviews will begin the next week on Feb. 15.

For more information, students can contact Eggers at [email protected] or at 587-2954.

Students can also contact Fritz at [email protected] or at 587-0715.
