While reading The Chronicle today (as I do everyday), I was a little surprised to see that in the house editorial (“Thumbs up, thumbs down: The week in review,” Nov. 23), The Chronicle gave a thumbs down to the Cure For The Cold fund-raiser.

I found this odd since on the front page of that day’s edition, The Chronicle reported that the event raised 200 boxes of clothes and more than $1,600 in cash.

This may be less than they were hoping for, but still that is whole lot more than nothin’.
