Utes aplenty on MWC All-Academic team

Sixteen Utes made the prestigious academic list Thursday. Senior linebacker Spencer Toone led the team with a Fall Semester 3.85 GPA, which he accrued while taking a full slate of graduate courses. The rest of the Utes to make the team were: Jesse Boone, Kyle Brady, Freddie Brown, Casey Evans, Brian Hernandez, Brian Johnson, Travis LaTendresse, Brice McCain, Taylor Miller, Louie Sakoda, Ameen Shaheen, Ryan Smith, Cody Sorensen, Steve Tate and Charlie TeGantvoort.

Weather forces match postponement

The men’s tennis match with Idaho State was cancelled Wednesday due to snowy conditions that kept the Bengals off the roads. The match has been rescheduled for Feb. 27 at 4 p.m.

Track gets final tuneup before conference meet

A skeleton crew of Utes heads to Ogden this weekend for the Wildcat Tuneup. Joining them will be BYU, USU, UVSC and Weber State.

“The Wildcat Tuneup is just that, a tuneup meet for the conference championships next weekend,” Ute head coach Kyle Kepler said. “We will only send a select few athletes who need an extra competition to continue to improve or work out various technical issues in their events. The remainder of the team will rest this weekend as part of their preparations for the MWC meet.”
