New U clinic opens in Centerville

By Natalie Hale

Davis County has a new U clinic in Centerville that will offer a streamlined registration process and same-day appointments for patients.

The health-care center has implemented a new care-team model in order to offer the streamlined process.

When a patient arrives at the center, a medical assistant meets with him or her at check in and stays with the patient throughout the entire visit.

This allows the physician to focus and assess the patient’s health-care needs more efficiently.

At the end of the visit, the patient is given an after-visit summary, including diagnosis, treatment plan and an order for the necessary tests and medications.

From Sept. 18-20, during the clinic’s open house, free health screenings will be offered to members of the community. They will be testing glucose and cholesterol levels, body fat content and blood pressure for free.

The clinic specializes in family medicine, but it will also offer podiatry, pharmacy laboratory and x-ray services for patients.
