In its second concert of the season, the Virtuoso series welcomes Marc-Andr Hamelin to Libby Gardner Hall. Hamelin, a Montral native and world-renowned pianist, aims to expose audiences to lesser known composers and beautiful musicality.
Hamelin’s accolades include the 2006 Juno Award for best classical album solo or chamber ensemble, Gramophone Magazine’s 2005 Artist of the Year nomination, the 2000 Gramophone Instrumental Award and a 2002 Grammy nomination for his recording of works by Alkan. He was the only classical artist to play live at the 2001 Grammy Awards.
Tuesday’s performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available in the Libby Gardner box office one hour before the concert.
