Jason Boone suspended indefinitely

The U football team will be without one of its top linemen this weekend, as junior right tackle Jason Boone has been “suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules,” according to a written release.

While details have yet to be disclosed, U head coach Kyle Whittingham did make it clear that the suspension is in accordance with the policy of the U athletics department.

“Jason will not play in Saturday’s game and his return to competition is still to be determined,” Whittingham said.

In Boone’s place will be junior Jeremy Inferrera, who does have starting experience this season, having taken over for left tackle Tavo Tupola during his injury earlier this season.

Boone, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound tackle from Millard High School, was an all-conference candidate as part of a unit that has allowed just eight sacks all year. This is his second year as a full-time starter.
