Letter: Protect your second amendment rights

Editor:Senator Gregory Bell, R-Davis, is sponsoring Senate Bill 251, “Higher Education-Concealed Firearm Restrictions” this legislative session. The text of the bill isn’t available to the public yet, but rumor has it that the bill will seek to limit the rights of concealed weapons permit holders in campus Residence Halls, faculty and staff offices and possibly other locations like classrooms and athletic venues at public colleges and universities across the state. As president of the Second Amendment Students of Utah, I would like to declare my opposition to this bill, encourage likeminded individuals to do likewise and invite all who are interested to attend a meeting today at 3:30 p.m. in the Union, Room 319, where we will be discussing this bill and organizing a number of educational events.
