Spring break smarts

By Natalie Hale

The Student Health Advisory Committee wants U students to have a safe and worry-free Spring Break this year.

Today through Thursday, SHAC will be handing out free kits to students in the Union Lobby to promote safety during Spring Break. The kit provides students with information and statistics about skin cancer and sun exposure, sexually transmitted infections, safe sex, date rape, first aid, safe alcohol consumption levels and traffic deaths related to alcohol consumption.

The kits also include sunscreen, lip balm, condoms, pain reliever, adhesive bandages, hand sanitizer, antacids and toothpaste.

SHAC serves students on campus and acts as a link with Student Health Services and encourages students to pick up a kit in the Union and learn about ways they can remain healthy and happy while enjoying the break.
