Aiding the elderly

By Natalie Hale

Do you enjoy helping the older lady who lives across the street from your parents? Do you have an affinity for nursing homes or caring for the elderly?

Then perhaps a career working with the aging population is right for you.

This week, the U is hosting a fair featuring career opportunities for students who desire to work with the elderly.

Tomorrow from noon to 2:30 p.m. in the Union Saltair Room, a panel will discuss potential opportunities for positions within the field.

The presentation is part of a weeklong nationally recognized event known as the “Careers in Aging Week.”

The event is sponsored by the U’s Gerontology Interdisciplinary program, the U Center on Aging and the W.D. Goodwill Initiative on Aging in the College of Social Work.

For more information about the event, please contact Scott Wright at 581-8198 or visit aging.utah.edu
