U creates Nonprofit Academy of Excellence

By Tiffany Lieu

The U will now provide a new certificate-based program customized for managers, staff and trustees in Utah’s non-profit community.

The Nonprofit Academy of Excellence, which is a part of the division of Continuing Education the U, will offer training for volunteers and professionals in non-profit management.

Students enrolled in the academy during the upcoming Fall Semester will be able to select from certificate programs in Leadership and Management, Finance, Fund Development and Human Resources. A fifth, self-directed certificate is available for participants who feel the offered certificates do not fit their needs.

Applications for the fall 2007 classes are due by Aug. 28. Applications are available and can be submitted online at site.

The estimated cost of each certificate is $1,250. For more information, visit site or call 585-1780.
