Need a major? Browse the expo

By Tina Siu

Students unsure about what they want to major in will be able to talk to representatives from every department on campus Wednesday at the U’s annual Major Exploration Expo.

The expo, which is being held in the Union, brings together departments and colleges across campus and highlights the different majors and programs students can enroll in.

Steve Hadley, the U’s major exploration coordinator, said this event is not just for students who are undecided in their studies. Students can also “find things that can complement a degree” to make their school experience more unique and involved.

Students can also find out more information about minors, certificate programs, internships, study abroad opportunities, some research opportunities and service programs.

“We definitely target (the event) to students who need to choose a major, but building a degree is more than just having a major — it’s like putting pieces of a puzzle together,” said Jency Brown, assistant dean of the University College, which is hosting the event.

Brown said the different components of a degree are what will differentiate one student from another, especially when applying for a job.
