Fun Bus a cheap way to get out of town

By Trent Lowe, Staff Writer

The words Spring Break invoke thoughts of beaches, hook-ups and the warm sun, but it also can stir up fears of expensive flights, pricey food and worthless souvenirs. Cut the beach, the flight and perhaps a hook-up, and you’ve got a $15 bus ride to Wendover.

Le Bus and Lewis Tours bus lines offer daily rides to West Wendover, Nev., providing cheap travel for those who wish to visit the city, which offers many casinos including the Rainbow, Peppermill and Montego Bay Resorts.

“I’ve been several times.” said Josh Elstein, a graduate student in English. “It’s incredible. You pre-game on the way over and “sleep’ on the way back. Put a grand down on the Jazz for me. You know I’m good for it.”

The entire trip lasts almost 11 hours, round-trip. There are various departure times to accommodate most schedules. Depending on the bus line used, there are different locations to board the bus, making it convenient for students to find the closest stop.

“I would go this weekend, but I have scheduling conflicts,” Elstein said. “I’m looking forward to my next visit. I can’t wait.”
