Jonathan Deesing (“Gun love is fueled by fear,” April 22), is living in a world where the sun is always shining and birds are always chirping, but back in the real world, there are plenty of things to fear. What is wrong with dreading your security system going off in the middle of the night, or fearing what might happen if you get too close to Pioneer Park one night?
I agree with Deesing that I would give up my wallet and watch before I pulled out my gun. But what about the lunatics that just want to go on a shooting spree? I am glad the U allows students to carry weapons. If someone started firing at innocent people, I would run and stand behind the closest person to me that was carrying a concealed weapon, or any place for that matter.
