This Is The End Spoiler-free Review

this_is_the-end

Last night I had the opportunity to go to an advanced screening (thanks gofobo) of This Is The End starring Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill, James Franco, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson… all playing themselves. There were also tons of cameos from the likes of Aziz Ansari, Emma Watson, Michael Cera, and too many more to list here. (To see the full cast check out this link to the IMDB page)
I was very excited to see This Is The End and had enjoyed all of the teaser trailers for it including the teaser that made it look like they were making a sequel to Pinapple Express 2 (how has that not happened for real yet?). I loved the idea that this particular group of people got together to make a movie where they play themselves, or rather themselves as the public perceives them.
The movie was hilarious, witty, and in the end much better than my already high expectations. Above all else the movie was enjoyable. The cast took shots at each others past work which made it that much more funny. There were no limits or bounds to where the comedic dialogue went in this movie and that made it all the more fun.
I would highly recommend This Is The End to anyone who is a fan of these guys’ work, just be sure to leave the kids at home.
